Sweetened or unsweetened?
It is the same Greek yoghurt in both tubs, made the same way, at the same price. One has sugar in it and one does not. That is the entire difference, and the lid tells you which you are holding.
Reading the lid
- Navy — sweetened.
- White and sage green — unsweetened.
Both carry the same hand-drawn wordmark and the same line around the rim: Made With Love From Josey Rich. If you are buying for somebody else and you are not sure which they want, the colour is the fastest way to be sure at a glance in a cold room.
Which one to buy
Unsweetened is the one to reach for if you are going to add something to it — fruit, honey, granola — or if you are cooking with it. It is also the one to buy if you want to decide how sweet your own breakfast is.
Sweetened is finished. It is meant to be eaten out of the tub with a spoon, and it does not need anything doing to it.
What is on the label
These are her own words, printed on her own packaging:
- High in probiotics
- Low fat
- 100% natural
The price is the same either way
A 500 ml tub is ₦4,000, sweetened or not. Nobody pays more for having the sugar left out, which is not true everywhere and is worth saying plainly.
